Petition for a Car Free Day in Adelaide

BISA has initiated a petition calling for a car free day in Adelaide, the petition should be available soon in bicycle shops and is available for downloading from our Projects page.

Adelaide City Council approves Bike Action Plan

On 25th August the Adelaide City Council approved its Draft Bicycle Action Plan 2008-2011, a $3 million dollar, three-year plan which features a range of initiatives aimed at providing greater opportunities for people to safely ride their bikes to and from the City and throughout the Park Lands.Highlighting the plan is the completion of the City’s primary “on road” bike lane network, and the construction in Sturt Street of South Australia’s first Copenhagen-style bicycle lane.The plan also includes:

Rann Government sees the light on Tramway Park Bicycle Overpass

  BISA's community campaign, including a planned protest rally has led to Minister's Conlon and Zollo announcing that following completion of the South Road tram bridge, a parallel shared path overpass will also be constructed on the tram reserve immediately to the North of the tramway structure.
