The Cycling Promotion Alliance was set up to foster co-operation and communication and to enable the cycling sector to achieve better outcomes for all bicycle riders at the national level.

The Alliance has been supported financially by the Bicycle Industry through the Cycling Promotion Fund. The Executive Members have been selected for their expertise in the sector and not because they represent an organisation.

The focus of the Alliance Excecutive has been lobbying federally for greater support for cycling from all relevant government portfolios. This has involved a number of campaigns to get a better deal for cycling and to foster communication and cooperation among key groups and invididuals likely to affect cycling outcomes in Australia.

The external environment has changed considerably in the last four years and it is an opportune time to review and reassess our approach to ensure the sector can take advantage of emerging opportunities at the federal government level.
