Media Release: CycleSport Victoria (CSV) & Victoria Police announce cycling safety initiative.

The Cycling Promotion Fund is proud to support the launch of a new Code of Conduct for training cyclists developed by Cycle Sport Victoria, the Victorian Police and Triathlon Victoria.

The objective of the Code of Conduct is to educate and encourage riders to enjoy a great physical activity by doing it safely and by respecting the needs of fellow bicycle riders, motorists and pedestrians.

CycleSport Victoria (CSV), the state governing body of the sport of cycling, also announced the joint launch of Victoria’s newest recreational cycling club, CycloSportif Victoria, and CSV’s cycling safety initiative, the Cyclists’ Code of Conduct.

The launch, hosted by Matthew Keenan held at Hampton's Brown Cow Cafe, featured representatives from CycleSport Victoria, Victoria  Police, Triathlon Victoria, Cycling Promotion Fund, Sport & Recreation Victoria, Amy Gillett Foundation, plus local councillors, in addition to cycling stars Mark French and Tess Downing.

In response to the increasing popularity of cycling as a recreational pursuit and in particular the increasing popularity of cycling on Beach Road, CSV has produced a Cyclists’ Code of Conduct.
