The Cycling Promotion Fund and Ryde City Council team up to urge the Commonwealth to invest in walking and cycling infrastructure

The Australian cycling sector has joined forces with local government to urge the Commonwealth to invest in healthy, active transport by funding walking and cycling infrastructure.

Developed by the Australian cycling sector and supported by over 60 councils across the country, including the City of Ryde, the proposed Healthy and Active Transport (HEAT) program would deliver $50m of annual funding direct to local government.

On the 14th of November Ryde City Council, with the support of the Australian cycling community will be holding an event in Bennelong Park to call for increased investment in walking and cycling infrastructure.

The site of this media event will be on a section of the proposed Ryde River Walk, a shared path that has been left incomplete due to lack of funds.
