These Awards are recognised nationally and each year the nominees and
winners are awarded at a national event in Canberra with members of the
government and opposition in attendance.
All winners and nominations are recognised in a full colour publication
distributed nationally and with a media campaign to ensure the word
about the winners gets out. The Cycling Promotion Fund organises the
Awards because our federal politicians, national decision makers and
all levels of government need to know the contribution that cycling is
making in so many areas.
With this Award category we also want them to understand the
contribution made by our cycle industry. This year, one of Australia’s
most respected cardiovascular and medical research organisations, the
Heart Foundation, is our major partner. This also adds to the
credibility of the Awards and reinforces cycling’s importance in the
area of preventative health.
By nominating and supporting the Awards you are ensuring that we
continue to have really good stories to tell that will in turn support
our efforts to get more support for cycling from the federal government
in Canberra. Please consider nominating this week for the Awards.
The Awards will be held in Canberra
in the week of 14 June at a function which will be attended by industry
representatives, stakeholder groups, federal members and senators.
If you
have any questions at all, please give Chris in the office a call on
(03) 9818 5400, but hurry as the nominations must close next Monday.
