The BIA Board wishes to advise that our Program Director, Rosemarie Speidel, has submitted her resignation and will be leaving the Cycling Promotion Fund in December 2009.
After 10 years at the CPF Rosemarie has decided it is time for a change in direction.
Rosemarie has been with the CPF since the beginning and has been
instrumental in growing a fledgling organisation into a respected and
effective national advocacy body for cycling. During this period she
has been responsible for investing over 2 million dollars from the Fund
to help to make Australia more bicycle friendly.
Under her stewardship the Fund has become a leading source of
information and advice on cycling and been integral in both raising the
public profile and promoting the benefits of cycling.
The
results of this success are reflected in the significant increases in
the sales of bicycles, in the numbers of people choosing to ride a bike
and in the decisions of governments across he country to invest in
cycling infrastructure and programs during this time.
We wish her well in her new endeavours.
With
Rosemarie’s resignation the Board has decided on a minor reorganisation
and we will be replacing the role of Program Director with that of
General Manager.
We will shortly be advertising for the new position and will keep you updated during the recruitment process.
In the interim, please don’t hesitate to contact me on m: 0413 594 903 if you’d like to discuss any of these matters.
Best wishes,
Noel McFarlane
