Moreland City Council is pleased to announce its second Cyclovia, named Tour de Moreland, on Sunday 13th April 2008 from 8am to 2pm on Sydney Road, Brunswick in Victoria.
"Tour de Moreland brings life to the street", says Mayor Joe Caputo JP. "Residents will enjoy the freedom of Sydney Road without cars, while businesses will benefit from extra foot-traffic. It’s a great idea and a great fun day out."
This is an exciting development. We encourage community organisations, bicycle riders and local businesses to support this event by promoting and encouraging as many people as possible to take advantage of Sydney Road full of people powered by human power.
Remember events like this depend on community and traders support. Bring along a friend, family and or your colleagues; have a coffee and meal, visit the shops, take advantage of the specials and enjoy yourself and play a role in making this a great success.

Cycling is good for business
Providing safe bicycle access and parking facilities in retail areas has received less planning consideration than motorised transport. This is despite the fact that the space requirements of bicycle friendly design are significantly less than that of motorised transport.
