NSW: A Place for Bicycles - Strategies for promoting safety
The NSW Injury Risk Management Research Centre and The University of New South Wales present a bicycle safety seminar: Increased concern for the environment and skyrocketing petrol prices have more and more people pushing pedals on their way from A to B. Cycling, both for transport and recreation has health benefits that can be maximised by managing injury risks.

Increased numbers of cyclists, and incidents such as occurred recently in southern Sydney, highlighting a pressing need to address issues relating to:
  • Cycling infrastructure, cycling lanes and shared facilities
  • Attitudes to shared use of roads and transport facilities
  • Is there a role for training and education in reducing injury risks?

Our seminar aims to present current research and strategies relating to these issues, as a basis for discussion of future directions
