
Bicycling Achievement Awards
On 4th June, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts, The Hon Peter Garrett AM, MP will present the National Bicycling Achievement Awards at Old Parliament House in Canberra.
The prestigious Bicycling Achievement Awards have been set up by the Cycling Promotion Fund to acknowledge innovation, committment and achievement in making Australia more bicycle friendly. The diversity of winners in this years's awards are proof of the growing support for cycling across Australia.

Increasing the level of cycling requires action at the individual, community, business and government level. Significant momentum is being generated to advance cycling in Australia with some excellent programs and initiatives happening at the community and state level.
Recognising and rewarding innovation and commitment is vital in sustaining actions.
The Cycling Promotion Fund has established the Bicycling Achievement Awards in 2002 to recognise achievement and foster innovation.
Since its operation the scope and quality of nominations has been increasing considerably which is a real testimony of the excellent work which is happening around Australia to advance cycling.
Making Australia more bicycle friendly and promoting and encouraging cycling requires action, commitment, innovation, vision and persistence.
