Safety Rules and Lights

I want to ride in the early morning and evening where there is less traffic. What options are there available for lights?

  • A flashing or steady white light that is clearly visable for at least 200 metres from the front of the bicycle.
  • A flashing or steady red light that is clearly visable for at least 200 metres from the rear of your bicycle.
  • A red reflector that is clearly visable for at least 50 metres from the rear of the bicycle when the light is projected onto it by a vehicle headlight on low beam.
There are range of excellent lights available for bikes which are affordable. To get more information on the lights available download this information sheet.
