Options for bicycle parking

At work
Does your company provide bike parking at work? Lots of businesses do, and building regulations in the State of Victoria now require all new buildings, as well as all significant refits, to have bike parking and possibly showers and lockers depending on the size of the building. Contact your state's user group for more information.

At home or when visiting friends
Lock your bike to something solid, just putting it in the hallway or leaving it on the verandah is not secure. Make it difficult to take away without a key.

Out shopping
Don't lean your bike against the shop window and think it will be OK. Twenty seconds and your bike may be gone, unless you have locked it to something solid.

Buy the best lock you can afford, in line with the value of the bicycle. D-locks are best, and cables are useful for securing wheels, saddles and helmets. For great information on how to effectively lock your bike please read these tips from Cheeky Monkey
